![]() ![]() Once that's done, reboot and you should be good to go. Run the wizard/install the file, it may throw a couple of dialog boxes up warning about about drivers for mice and keyboards, etc-just tell it to "do it anyway". For Ubuntu based distros running in a VM (which should include your "Commodore OS Vision"), it downloads a "b" file which you manually install. Clicking on that, in a Windows VM for example, it would start "Guest additions" install wizard, the same kind of wizard you find included with most Windows applications. Lastly, once a VM is created and an OS is installed into it (I'm going to use Windows as an example), start your VM and once the OS is booted up and running, under the "Devices" menu, you should find "Install Guest additions" near the bottom of the drop down menu. This extension pack is installed via VirtualBox "Preferences" I'm sure you can figure out how to do this. You need to download the "VirtualBox Oracle VM VirtualBox Extension Pack" from the VirtualBox "Downloads" page. You were already shown how to do this via the terminal but you can also install "gnome-system-tools" from the repos (includes the old "Users and Groups") and you can add your user to the "vboxusers" group using the old "Users and Groups" as well. The latest version of VirtualBox installed either from the repos or directly downloaded installed from the VirtualBox site.Īdd your user to the "vboxusers" group. ![]() ![]() Always install "Guest additions" from your running VM. Also, never install "Guest additions" from the repos. The version you want is: 4.2.12-84980~Ubuntu~raring. By the way, the latest version of VirtualBox is available in the repos but it can be confusing since the repos offer several different versions of Virtualbox to choose from. Okay, so this is a TL DR reply but read it anyway please.Ĥ things are required in order to have all functions you want available under VirtualBox and I'm going to be telling you some thing you already know and some you may not. But the main thing is can I use the disks to upgrade Commodore OS in a VM? Jessey Lawson wrote:Yet I still can's share folders.
